The place of utopia in Plato’s Republic: the myth of the cave

The influence of the Republic of Plato in later authors, especially Augustine and Morus, has been widely recognized. After the publication of Morus´ Utopia, the very concept of utopia there developed became one of the most frequent adjectives for defining the discursive plan of the Plato´s Republic. In this communication, we intend to demonstrate the boundaries of this adjective, following three large lines of arguments in the Socrates' speech in the said work.
