ETHNOGRAPHIC REPORT OF THE POSTDOCTORAL STAY IN CIESAS-SOUTHEAST

Abstract

This ethnographic account densely presents the postdoctoral activities carried out at the Center for Research and Higher Studies in Social Anthropology (CIESAS-Southeast), financed with an Estágio Sênior scholarship from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher-Level Personnel (CAPES process 99999.000020/2015-00). The activities have been carried out between September of 2015 and July of 2016. The research in Chiapas, the ethnography zone, was carried out from September of 2015 to May of 2016. In addition to Chiapas, I have participated in events in the state of Veracruz (Huatusco), in the state of Puebla (Cuetzalan) and in Mexico City, where visits, interviews, informal talks, videos, images and direct observation were carried out with coffee organizations and interviews with other actors in the organic coffee production chain located in the Los Altos, Costa-Soconusco and Jungle regions of Chiapas. Simultaneously, interviews with coffee researchers have been conducted.
