The philosophy of education in Bell Hooks: critical thinking and pedagogical commitment

Bell Hooks is a central thinker in contemporary philosophy of education. This article examines her conception of teaching as a transformative practice oriented towards social justice and the formation of ethical and critical individuals. From her perspective, philosophy not only provides tools for autonomous and creative thinking but also becomes a fundamental axis of the educational process. Hooks advocates for an engaged pedagogy that weaves together philosophical reflection and community action, emphasizing the role of critical thinking in building a more equitable society.
