This work was developed based on doctoral research conducted within the scope of the Graduate Program in School Education (PPGEEProf)—Professional Master's and Doctoral Program at the Federal University of Rondônia (UNIR). The study emerged from the following research problem: The Multilevel Libraries of the Federal Institutes of Education, Science, and Technology (IFs), as part of the public policy on Professional Education, function as spaces designed to serve diverse users with varied informational needs. This reality demands appropriate educational planning by libraries to ensure effective access to information. In this context, libraries play a fundamental role as meaningful educational spaces, contributing to a more humanistic, comprehensive, and emancipatory Professional Education. The objective of this study was to understand how librarians and multilevel libraries at IFs strengthen students' informational knowledge, as well as to identify the inherent challenges of this educational endeavor. To achieve these goals, a qualitative and applied research approach was adopted, using questionnaires and interviews as data collection instruments. The target audience consisted of librarians who develop educational practices within their institutions. The results highlight the relevance of the Multilevel Library as a space for info-education, reading, and culture, where professionals implement activities primarily focused on promoting reading and developing information literacy. A total of 71 activities conducted between 2008 and 2021 were identified, demonstrating the role of these spaces as cultural and informational hubs, facilitated through informational and cultural mediation carried out by librarians and library assistants. In conclusion, while these activities play a significant role, there is a need for greater structuring and continuity to fully align them with the objectives of Professional, Scientific, and Technological Education (EPT), particularly regarding research as an educational principle.
