Abstract

The use of medicinal plants in human care is an ancient practice, present since the dawn of civilization. Thus, the objective of the present study is to consolidate a socioeconomic, socio-environmental and sociocultural analysis of the ethnobotanical components used as medicine in the yards of the Community of the District of Vila Aparecida in the municipality of Cáceres-MT.The ethnobotanical study was carried out with residents of the Community of the District of Vila Aparecida, Cáceres - MT, between the months of June and November 2018 and developed in 3 stages: Identification of participants; Structured and unstructured interviews recorded and Collection of botanical material. 16 backyards were studied in which 94 species were registered, distributed in 40 botanical families used by the community for medicinal purposes. These are often used to combat a set of 80 different diseases, which are distributed in 11 systems of the human body. It is crucial to develop educational actions aiming to raise public awareness with the intention of conserving and maintaining knowledge, as well as the sustainable use of natural resources present in backyards.
