Actions for implementation of institutional repositories in public university in Rio de Janeiro State

Abstract

This work presents a descriptive-exploratory research about the development of institutional repositories in public universities in Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil, to allow open access to scientific information. It aimed to identify the current status of these repositories, through semi-structured interviews with professionals that are carrying on the development of the institutional repositories. The results present diversity of strategies on the initiatives to establish their repositories, and also different stages of implementation
