Knowledge organization has "knowledge" as its object and its practice involves organizing it, thus sharing a proximity with philosophy and the theory of knowledge. Subjectivity is a recent research topic in the humanities. The proposal is to understand the concept of subjectivity in contemporary times and how it can be investigated within knowledge organization. Based on a bibliographic review and interpretative analysis, connections between subjectivity and knowledge organization were identified, and potential research paths were proposed. It is argued that considering subjectivity in knowledge organization is essential today.
