In this work, we will focus on proposing a dialogue between Kant and Benjamin, from the notions of imagination and reflection as thought by the modern philosopher in his Critique of pure reason and Critique of judgement, and the notion of art criticismo that has its origins in german romanticism, extracted from Benjamin’s PhD dissertation The concept of art criticism in german romanticism from the contemporary philosopher. Our aim is to indicate some similarities and diferences from both these philosophers. Our starting point is: how art offers itself to reflection in each philosopher? The methodology will be the comparison between primary (Kant and Benjamin) and secundary (Hentz, Pippin, Gagnebin, Seligmann-Silva and Weber) literature. As our conclusion, we have that art offers itself to reflection in Kant by being forbidded to create a concept and constitute a claim for objective universality, opposed to Benjamin, in which every reflection about the art work, and, therefore, every critique, offers a new concept about her.
