Resumo

Soil bacteria have impotant role on nutrients cycling, being a great reservoir pool, mainly in tropical soils. These microorganisms change genetic information, by transformation, transduction and mainly conjugation processes, where in the latter, plasmids of several sizes have been observed, carrying resistance determinants to antibiotics, heavy metals and several organic compounds. In the present work, bacterial soil strains isolated from sugar cane factory environments, able to grow in medium with different and specific carbon sources, amended with different heavy metals concentrations. The resistent bacterial soil strains that have presented plasmids were investigated, and it was also observed if such plasmids would be induced by selective agents. Two of the techniques for DNA extractions, allowed to obtain satisfactory plasmidial profiles, being possible a comparative analysis of these techniques. Eleven strains presented plasmids, among the 24 strains tested.
