MEMORIES OF IMMORALITY
HOMOSEXUALITY IN THE LITERATURE OF GIDE AND WILDE UNDER ANOTHER LIGHT
Keywords:
Literatura Comparada, O Imoralista, O Retrato de Dorian Gray, André Gide, Oscar WildeAbstract
The present work seeks to explain the nuances of works permeated by the LGBTQIA+ theme and provide new perspectives on high literature novels that suffer from the denial, censorship, and rejection of having any content on the theme. By analyzing Andre Gide’s, The Immoralist and Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray from scientific and social perspectives and carrying out a reading on synchronic and diachronic perspectives, it is intended not only to provide a theoretical-analytical discussion, but also to take the product of the analysis forward to an accessible place of information and to make it an object of awareness about the panic that enveloped this literature.
