Resumo

Using a focus of practice-based studies and the phenomenon of gender as a practice, this paper examines how the practice of gender effects women’s organizations through exploring the impacts of gendered individuals within organizations, challenging the contemporary literature on organizing as an inherently masculine space through an examination of predominately female run organizations, and looking at how gendered organizing impacts predominately female-based organizations in their interactions with male dominated organizations. In conclusion, utilizing a practice-based approach to organizing which includes a gendered analysis of practice is ultimately the best route to understanding gender within organizations.
