O antiprotestantismo nos contos de Grimm: reflexões sobre religião no romantismo

Abstract

Fairy tales are reservoirs of culture and symbolic images that pervade the oral traditions of various peoples for centuries. Such stories, even the best known, suffered many modifications and had dozens of different versions over the years, so that it became impossible to find an original version for them and difficult to discern the motivations of such differences. This study aims to examine, in the tales collected by the Brothers Grimm, the influence of the Catholic religion in Germany in the period of Romanticism, and the parallel rejection of Protestantism and its followers. As the theoretical basis of this research, we rely on the works of Arnold Hauser, Peter Burke, J. Guinsburg and others.
