Abstract

In this issue, the Revista Espaço do Currículo brings to the academic community a set of texts that update the debate provoked around the questions about the curricula of teacher training. These questions reflect concerns associated with the way in which the formative purposes and curricular organization of the course must be conceived in relation to the ways of signifying what Pedagogy consists of as a field of knowledge, training and professional performance. The publication of this material is especially opportune given that the year 2016 marks ten years of the National Curriculum Guidelines for the Pedagogy Course (DCN).

Author Biography

José Leonardo Rolim de Lima Severo, Federal University of Paraíba, Brazil.

PhD and Master in Education by the Graduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB). He is an Adjunct Professor in a regime of exclusive dedication in the Department of Pedagogical Qualifications and in the Graduate Program in Education at the Education Center at the Federal University of Paraíba, where he leads the Group of Studies and Research in Pedagogy, Educational Work and Society (GEPPTES- UFPB).
