Abstract:
This article initially presents difficulties faced by contemporary mothers. Next, it discusses motivations and concepts which support the Matricentric Feminism (O’Reilly, 2016) theory and practice. According to this author, motherhood and mothering are the unfinished businesses of feminism, especially in academic debates, but also in contemporary feminist activist practices. Finally, we conclude it is necessary to create room to discuss Motherhood and Mothering in Brazil, as relevant issues within the Feminist and Gender Studies.
