Ethics in Translation Studies
From Crossroads of the Past to the Mega-Crossroad of Artificial Intelligence

This article presents the results of the second stage of a study on ethics in Translation Studies. The research analyzed 105 papers available in the BITRA database, surveyed in March 2024. In the first stage, the documents were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively to assess their impact and contributions. This second stage adopts a retrospective focus: using the same corpus, we identify and analyze the main “civilizational crossroads”, and the solutions proposed by their authors. The paper also includes a textual-discursive analysis to highlight the multiple ethics present in the studied material (Moraes, 2003; Moraes and Galiazzi, 2006).
