PARTICIPAÇÃO POLÍTICA E JUVENTUDE: um olhar sobre as experiências de jovens na Rede de Jovens no Nordeste-PB

Abstract

The present work is the result of a dissertation research in Sociology at PPGS / UFPB in 2016. The objective of this study was to analyze the political participation of young people who are part of the Northeast Youth Network. We sought to discuss one of the forms of youth participation that is expressed, above all, by articulation in networks and openness to work in governmental organizations. A qualitative research was carried out based on the reports of 11 collaborators, 6 (six) men and 5 (five) women, in order to learn how they attribute meaning to their experiences as political actors, whether in organizational and social practices. mobilization as representatives of the Network in government agencies. The period analyzed is from 2005 to 2011, when the Network is most active in the Northeast, and young people who participated in different moments in the Network's history were interviewed. The analysis of the speeches dialogues with the concept of youth, understood as a changing category that is also significant by the young people themselves from their experiences in the family, at work, at school, in the church and in politics. Political participation is understood in a broader sense involving organizational practices of direct action and mediation, as well as the elaboration of representations about the meaning of democracy, participation and citizenship.
