TV in the transition scenario and newscast as hypertext:
a preliminary debate on the transformations in the digital age

Starting with the discussion about the scenario of television transition, ruled by technological, strategic and discursive transformations, this paper analyzes TV News and its new organization schemes, suggesting a debate on the statute of TV News. In light of discursive semiotics, this study seeks to investigate the conceptual similarities (and differences) between TV News and hypertext in the context of digitalization, aiming to arouse a new approach of the genre, and therefore contribute to its improvement and update, considering its specifics as a journalistic television format. For this, we have divided this article in three parts: the presentation of the changing stage for which television goes through, affected by digitalization; the observation of TV News in the context of these transformations; the proposition of a new perspective on TV News, based on the concept of hypertext.
