Abstract

Several areas of knowledge have been giving significant attention to the use of ontologies, such as Computer Science, Information Science, Knowledge Management, among others. These studies, however, come in different foci and often are scattered in collections in Brazil. It is very important, knowing the different approaches taken on ontologies conducted in Brazil. This article is from a survey that aimed to bring together, through a survey of analytical, the various issues raised in masters and doctoral research on on ontologies conducted in Brazil. For that was adopted at the methodological level, the Method of Content Analysis of Laurence Bardin. The results provided significant contributions to understanding the overview of research conducted in Brazilian public universities on the subject. It was found the predominant area of study in computer science to develop tools that use ontologies and the importance of the area of Information Science in conducting surveys of theoretical and methodological, for the maintenance of development methods.
