Abstract

This paper examines the tension between social pressure and the pursuit of personal fulfillment in a world that prioritizes speed and competition. Drawing on the ideas of philosophers such as Plato, Aristotle, John Rawls, and Thomas Hobbes, the paper argues that true fulfillment is found in accepting individual differences and respecting one’s own life pace. The metaphor of football is used to illustrate the importance of excellence in performance, irrespective of external recognition. Additionally, the paper suggests that public reason should guide social and international relations as a pathway to peace and justice, exemplified by the creation of the European Union as a Kantian ideal of harmony among nations.
