This work aims to carry out a study on the disciplinary power in the context of the work Discipline & Punish by the French philosopher Michel Foucault. We understand that the disciplinary power which almost always presents itself invisibly, which does not exclude its evident manifestations, verbi gratia, in the coercive apparatus and institutions of the State. In this way, our general objective is to discussion the functioning of this power, And as is him present in the field of social institutions. Thus, our problem consists in: with the subject belonging social institutions can stand to these technologies of power. The hypothesis correlated to the strategies of escape in this power it is expressed in the practices of care of self. Through the works: The Hermeneutics of the subject and the courage of truth: Government of self and of others II, moment on which Foucault focuses in its last phase, treating this aspect about ethics. The present study will use as data collection technique, the bibliographic research, In which the instruments used to both configure themselves in books of Foucault and their respective commentators. Finally, the method discussed in this research will be the hypothetical deductive, being that the arguments can be refuted or accepted.
