Resumo

Characteristics based on the shell as well as on the soft parts (palllal complex) and radulae of Cyphoma signatum and Cyphoma macumba are presented. The analysis of the shell of both species presented few differential characters. The morphology of the soft parts is also quite similar. However, the margins of the foot and mantle are quite distinct, as well as the shape of the penis and osphradium. The osphradium of C. signatum presents broadned distal ends probably as a mean of increasing the area in contact with the water entering the pallil chamber. The radulae of both species are of the taenioglossan type, the marginal teeth having many cuspids, specific for the Ovulidae.
