In this article, we deal with themes that are intangible and that belong to the immaterial order, which Science often disregards because they are not measurable, but which have weight when presented as we present it here: through Literature, which captures this knowledge and it applies to the text. A Casa, the Magnum Opus by Natércia Campos, a writer from Ceará who is still little known by the reading public – even in her native region –, amalgamates what is known as “memory of walls” with what is long known about some of the “Brazilian Northeastern superstitions” and “family curses” in this book. To discuss what we propose here, we are based on the researches and contributions of scholars such as Cascudo (2006; 2012), Chaves (2022), Silva (2016) and Timbó (2011), among others. We conclude that studies such as this one are of undeniable importance not only because they deal with themes that are not normally considered as they should by our literary canon, but mainly because they bring to the attention of the general reading public the work of unrepeatable Brazilian Northeastern writers who deserve to be known and recognized for their priceless contributions to our regional and national literature, crystallizing in their writings the customs, orality, and ancestral knowledge of Sertão and the Northeastern people who inhabit it.
