This analysis proposes a psychoanalytic reading of the fairy tale The Frog King by the Brothers Grimm, based on the theoretical contributions of Bruno Bettelheim (2002), who interprets fairy tales as fundamental to children's emotional development. The analysis highlights the linear narrative structure, the archetypal function of the characters, and the symbolic role of natural and social spaces in the formation of subjectivity. The animal-groom cycle is interpreted as a metaphor for the process of psychosexual maturation, in which initial repulsion transforms into acceptance and desire. This research, which is bibliographic, explanatory, and interpretative in nature, emphasizes how the narrative aids in the elaboration of internal conflicts, allowing children to understand and overcome emotional dilemmas. It concludes that The Frog King symbolically illustrates the journey of emotional growth, promoting the integration of the rational and emotional aspects of personality.
