The present study is a bibliographical research, with a qualitative approach, which aims to map the use of software in the researches of Post-Graduation in Education, describing the different ways of contribution the software offers for the research. For data collect, the site of the Catalog of Theses and Dissertations of CAPES was consulted, where the descriptor "utilização de software" was researched, which returned 118 occurrences, when applying the filter by knowledge area with the optionEducation were found 11 titles, being of these 10 dissertations and 1 doctorate. This research presents a categorization of the ways of use and contributions of research software in education that involves it. And its motivation is to provide information on the integration of information technologies with teaching and research practices.
