The present work aims at a discussion about the feminine claims for the right to professionalization and insertion in the working world during the middle of the 19th century in the Court. To do so, we will try to show that such claims were restricted to specific groups, that is, white and literate women who needed to occupy mainly public and political positions, at that time restricted only to men. In the same way, we will also try to think about black women and their already ample work in the world of work, unlike the literate ones, where it is possible to evidence diverse acts as domestic workers, washerwomen, cooks, milkmaids, grocers, between free and enslaved, discussing a world of female labor in which it becomes necessary to use intersections such as gender, race and class to understand it in a heterogeneous, diverse and unequal way.
