THE REFORM OF BRAZILIAN HIGH SCHOOL AS GOVERNMENT BIOPOLITICAL STRATEGY

Abstract

This article discusses the Brazilian high school reforms that should be implemented under Law 13,415 of 2017. As soon as he tookoffice, in the midst of a controversial process, President Michel Temer urgently implemented reforms in education without dialogue with organized civil society and researchers in the area. The mentioned law modifies the High School changing the workload, the curriculum and the investments in teacher training. The methodology is post-critical and part of the analysis of Law no. 13,415 of 2017 and analysis of some official government advertising on the reform of High School to meet the goal. The theoretical framework consists of poststructuralist authors such as Julia Varela, Fernando Alvarez-Uria, Inés Dussel and Marcelo Caruso to situate the concept of school adopted in thiswork. The Brazilian high school reform aims to recalibrate the curriculum so that it produces the subject necessary for the maintenance of the existing mental and social order, the neo-liberal homo oeconomicus.
