Abstract

This experience report presents the result of a didactic sequence applied in the 7th year C of the State School of Elementary and Middle Education Monte Carmelo, in Campina Grande, which was carried out aiming at the development of the reading skills of the students participating in the intervention process didactic-pedagogical, through activities of reading, writing and linguistic analysis. After presenting different genres for work with their reading, for the core of the discussions, we suggest that students read the comic genre, aiming at the possibility of involvement and reflection based on the theme addressed – linguistic variation. Taking into account that the study of genders shows the functioning of society (MARCUSCHI, 2007), as well as that the role of the school is to prevent the reproduction of inequalities and prejudices (BORTONI-RICARDO, 2004; PCNEF, 1998), we based the strategy theoretical-methodological role (and recognition thereof) of students in interaction situations and in the development of linguistic-discursive skills, since the entire approach is centered on various possibilities for oral presentation by Portuguese speakers.
