Abstract

This article will use some linguistic procedures to understand the organizing principles of Carlos Drummond de Andrade's book “An Entirely Twisted Self”, which is considered a representative work not only because it has a variety of poems. , but also because it was organized by the author himself. This article will follow two lines of analysis: the first aims, from a theoretical support, to build a reflection on the denomination given by the poet to the title of the section “A whole twisted self”; The second one aims to analyze elements of textual construction, in order to verify the correlation between the poems and the title of the section, based on the concept of isotopy, which will determine the set of lexical units to be analyzed. end the semantic and lexical field that make up the section.
