This research explores the similarities and differences between the military regime during the period of the Institutional Act No. 5 (AI-5) from 1968 to 1978 and the Bolsonarist government from 2019 to 2022. The study aims to identify phenomena, popular movements, and government policies that either align or diverge between these periods, focusing on their impact on interpersonal human consciousness. The research investigates the strategies employed by both governments, in conjunction with ideological group movements, to articulate extremist ideologies that steer personal motivations. It also examines how these strategies potentially affect social identity determinations. The study delves into the characteristics that define these groups detrimental to human identity and individual decision-making abilities. The theoretical framework encompasses various perspectives from the field of psychology: psychoanalysis, cognitive-behavioral psychology, and group psychology. The research begins by providing a historical context of the AI-5 period and the Bolsonarist government, highlighting the similarities and differences between these phenomena. It then evaluates how group affiliations can invalidate individual identity, choice-making abilities, and singular autonomy, drawing from diverse psychological viewpoints. Finally, the study establishes connections between psychological constructs and the reality imposed during the Bolsonarist government. This research is significant for its contribution to the analysis of the human condition within contexts where groups and governments limit individual consciousness and relational autonomy. It holds contemporary relevance for political responsibilities concerning interpersonal uniqueness and human dignity. Additionally, it offers insights into how the current phenomenon of fake news is strengthened within a dependent and manipulated ideological group, shaping a biased perception of reality, and how this group confers messianic attributes upon a political figure.
