Bearing in mind the struggle presents in the relationships that involve peasants in capitalism, here we propose to discuss "agroecological practices" as a political factor. Our interest is to investigate the way that the agroecology as “alternative model” serves as an element used by peasants to strengthen a political opposition to agribusiness. First, we reflect on "social location" of the peasantry in the capitalism system. For this, we briefly discuss about its economic subordination condition, so that to emphasize the political relevance of resistance initiatives to this troubled reality. Secondly, as theoretical implication, we pointed the importance of agroecology as a social practice, criticizing the naturalistic view that widely underlies its understanding as science or field of knowledge.Downloads
