Analysis of the Adequacy of the Cost Management Process with the PMBOK Methodology

ABSTRACT
Objective: to verify the quality of the cost management process of ERP implementation projects, using as a reference the premises established by the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
Approach: The applied research has a qualitative approach, for the analysis of the process, primary company documents and interviews were used, respecting questions of secrecy and reliability.
Results: the company has a basic process for the implementation and planning stages of projects, consistent with what is prescribed by the PMBOK, however there is no process for monitoring and controlling costs from its execution.
Contributions: The result achieved with this article aims to show organizations the impact caused by the lack of cost management in the development of a project.
Relevance: The use of the PMBOK guide in the development of project guidelines stands out in this study, reinforcing the importance of an internationally recognized guiding standard.
