This article addresses the results of a research focused on the profile of the solidarity entrepreneurship in Araraquara, Brazil, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim is to identify both the impacts of the pandemic on the life of the groups of the solidarity economy (creation, mortality, strengthening, weakening, etc.) and if there was a mobilization of community to combat the ills of the pandemic, notably on the production of personal protective equipment (PPE) and food. The research is qualitative in its approach, descriptive and exploratory, designed as a multiple case study, with documentary research, participant observation and the application of questionnaires as the main data collection instruments. It’s main objective was to understand the dynamics of the solidarity economy in the municipality, especially during the pandemic period. In order to reach this objective it focuses on the challenges imposed by the scenario of political, social and economic instability created by the pandemic and, at the same time, points out the difficulties encountered by the EES in the midst of the crisis and their initiatives to overcome the consequences.
