ABSTRACT: This article, based on bibliographic and documentary analysis, seeks to reflect on the role of basic education as a space of resistance in defense of the human rights of the LGBTQIAPN+ community. It departs from the idea that legislation and public policies, although essential, do not, on their own, guarantee an inclusive and democratic society. Thus, it argues that the educational field must take a political stance in protecting dissident identities. It also contends that the school, beyond reproducing oppression, is a site of dispute, capable of fostering critical and emancipatory practices. The article concludes that building a plural and democratic school requires specific policies, pedagogical practices to confront cisheteronormativity, and the continuous training of educators committed to an emancipatory and decolonial education.
