Cultural Heritage and geological heritage: The Seridó/RN Geopark as a non-formal learning site

The present work aims to discuss some aspects related to the possibility of learning in non-formal places, such as geoparks and specifically through the proposal of the Seridó Geopark Project. Geoparks, according to the Organization for Education, Science and Culture - UNESCO are based on three premises: conservation, education and tourism, with a view to promoting preservation/conservation of heritage, both cultural and environmental (geological) and their possibilities (tourism combined with preservation actions) to serve as an engine for the sustainable development of the places/communities/societies in which they are inserted. The methodology used consisted of the bibliographic review of existing literature on this subject for the writing of this article and its practical action was divided into three moments: a) the actions to prepare the visit; b) the visit itself (field class) and c) the post-visit actions. In that sense, we can say, even emphasizing that we worked with a group of professionals in training, that learning in non-formal places is possible, viable, healthy and, as long as it is well planned, it will achieve the proposed objectives.
