The objective of this study is to analyze articles published in the Revista Brasileira da Educação Profissional e Tecnológica(Brazilian Journal of Professional and Technological Education), aiming at mapping the methodological procedures used in the published editions from 2008 to 2017. The theoretical basis of this work is based on the studies of Ghedin (2008), Gil (2014) and Minayo (2013), among others, which allowed to characterize it as a bibliographical research with a qualitative approach. It can be observed that the 98 papers analyzed are organized into ten categories related to the methodological procedures: bibliographic research (37), documentary research (04), case study (03), field research (02), bibliographic and documentary research, field and bibliographic research (02), documentary research and case study (01), bibliographic, documentary and field research (02), participant research (01), however, there is a category that draws attention which is not not explicited (36), there we identify studies that do not explain their methodological path, completing 98 articles. It is therefore pointed out the necessity of describing the methodological procedures used as well as a greater rigor in the selection and evaluation of the articles to be published in this journal in order to make public the procedure adopted in carrying out the research that gave rise to these works.
