Abstract

This work covers some aspects of the complex situation that education has experienced in Ecuador in the period of the health emergency due to the Covid 19 pandemic. It raises crucial issues that have played against the right to education; it reveals the central role that teachers and families have had; and, places some challenges for the near future aimed at recovering the sense of the public, to reinvent education under the condition of connecting with structural changes that put education, health, employment at the center of the country's political agenda. and social protection with an inclusive approach to all.

Author Biography

Magaly Robalino, Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Sociales y Educativas, CENAISE

Ecuadorian. Doctor of Education from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil; Master's in Leadership and Educational Development from the Central University of Ecuador; Specialty in Project Management and Evaluation from the San Francisco de Quito University. She is currently a researcher at the National Center for Social and Educational Research, CENAISE. Member of the Red Estrado Ecuador, member of the KIPUS Ecuador Network and member of the promoting group of the Coalition for the Right to Education in Ecuador. His areas of interest cover topics from: national and Latin American educational settings; educational policies; teaching policies; professional development, teacher evaluation and health, education and information and communication technologies; design and management of social and educational projects; articulations between education, cultural heritage, and social inclusion.
