Writing about education may be repetitive and fail to awaken any interest; however, the aim of this paper is to address the problem of the relationship between education and solidarity with the aim of presenting the concept of solidarity according to Scheler and the possibility of experiencing acts of education with solidarity. The term “solidarity” has been conceptualized in various ways, and it may be practiced with different motivations. This text is the result of studies regarding solidarity from the writings of Scheler and of Freire and also regarding didactics understood as the “art of teaching”. According to Scheler, solidarity occurs in the relationship between “acts of the individual” and “acts of the collective” in the sphere of lived experience of the collective community. Since didactics is not restricted to action through mere instrumentalization but is rather a political act that attributes value, education with solidarity may occur under specific circumstances in a relationship of co-responsibility between the teacher and the learner, mediated by a passion for knowledge.
