Abstract

In Brazil, the advertising is not regulated by the state but by a non-governmental institution that dictates to its members how advertising should be made. It's called self-regulation. This study is about the evaluation of the National Council for Self-Regulation (CONAR) to the commercial "Rio" by McDonalds. Based on the arguments of CONAR, it can be concluded that this institution is not prepared to defend the children
