FOR EDUCATIONAL-CRITICAL PRACTICE: AN INVITATION TO READINGS OF PAULO FREIRE

Abstract

This article aims to present pedagogical action structured in an annual cycle of debates entitled "For educational-critical practice: an invitation to readings of Paulo Freire". It is a series of meetings for the reflective reading of two essential works for teacher training: "Pedagogy of Autonomy, necessary knowledge for educational practice" (Freire, 1996) and "Pedagogy of the Oppressed" (Freire, 1968). The cycle is part of a branched action of the extension project Coffee with Method: Strategies for the popularization of scientific thought applied to language studies, linked to the State University of Rio de Janeiro. It was born from the idea of building a space for reflection, together with undergraduate/graduate students at UERJ and teachers working in basic education, on educational-critical practice and popular education from Paulo Freire and authors in dialogue with the author.
