Abstract

This article will focus on the memories of female characters represented in A Confissão da Leoa (2012) and Jesusalém or Antes de nascer o mundo (2009), in an interpretative hypothesis that women contribute to building a Mozambican identity after the colonial period. The speeches of some women formed by assimilation with tradition, while others take up militancy, showing how gender relations are established in Mozambique, a country to build.
