PERSPECTIVES OF “SHOWING”:
ABOUT AN ESSAY ON WITTGENSTEIN

Based on an article published by E. A. de Azevedo, we will study the role of showing, in addition to saying, given to language in the Tractatus logico-philosophicus. This allows us to reconsider the possible links between Wittgenstein and Spinoza. The different ways of showing correspond to the different modes of perception or types of knowledge that Spinoza repeatedly exposed in his works and that are also implied in the examination of Scripture made in the Tractatus theologico-politicus. Thus we have conceptual elements to deepen the relationship apparently only anecdotal between Wittgenstein's Tractatus logico-philosophicus and Spinoza's Tractatus theologico-politicus.
