This article analyzes the influence of neoliberal formal logic on public education and how this affects people's development. Education that truly seeks human emancipation now faces a crisis of purpose in a society that values profit above all else. Based on the theoretical ideas of Christian Laval, István Mészáros, Theodor W. Adorno, and Herbert Marcuse, this analysis argues that neoliberalism, seen as the modern expression of the relentless logic of capital, is converting schools into businesses and knowledge into human capital. The main idea is that, by aligning itself with the logic of capital, education loses its political character and results in the semi-formation of the individual, diminishing their autonomy and critical thinking. This article seeks to understand how this neoliberal crisis causes the semi-formation of people and how it is possible to regain autonomy through critical resistance. To this end, the method employed is a critical analysis, which deepens the discussion on the commodification of knowledge and the changing function of the school. The research reinforces the relevance of critical resistance as a path to emancipation, concluding that this is the fundamental route to autonomy within an educational system dominated by the logic of capital.
