In Spain, the theme of Education for Citizenship was born with a major social and educational problem that subsequently led to a normalization of the situation, following the guidelines and the evolution of the European context. In this sense, no one doubts the importance of Education for Citizenship being part of the social science curricula of compulsory education. The latest developments are the emergence of the concept of global citizenship, from the refugee crisis in Europe, and the importance that the perspective of interpreting contemporary problems and conflicts is acquiring, also from digital media, the formation of critical thinking. and participation or social action.
