CURRICULAR PROPOSAL FOR CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

In this article, we present and debate the curricular proposal for early childhood education in the municipal system of Bauru (SP), developed as a collective construction process from 2011 to 2016 in close partnership with the public university. After a brief contextualization about the way of collective organization of work that resulted in the production of the curricular matrix that composes the pedagogical proposal of the municipality, we describe the structure of the curriculum in five major areas (Art, Science, Body Culture, Portuguese Language and Mathematics), two of them divided into sub-areas (Natural Sciences and Society Sciences; Literary Art, Visual Arts and Music). We highlight the general objective and structuring axes of each area, arguing about its importance as curricular content for early childhood education in view of the pedagogical intentionality of promoting the child's omnilateral development. In the course of argumentation, we will engage in dialogue with questions and controversies around the relevance or not of the curriculum as a mediating device for pedagogical praxis in early childhood education and its organization around areas of knowledge; addressing the problem of the specificity of early childhood education in the development and implementation of the curriculum and bringing preliminary notes for critical and purposeful dialogue with the guidelines of the Common Curricular National Base.
