Abstract

This text, To the northeast of philosophy and the owl on the mandacaru, brings out a redemption of the tradition of the northeastern philosophical thought showing the preliminary and founding stages as well as its adherence to European methods and philosophical materials. It shows too its initial milestone with the thomistic- Aristotelianism of the Jesuits, crosses over  the renovated empiricism  of the Olinda Seminar,  the positivism of the School of Recife and  the French scientism  of Ceará French Academy. The general objective of this article is to question, based on data from the tradition of the philosophical thought of the  Brazilian northeast , the mere subservience to the repetition of the classics and about the need to philosophize based on our own reality in the same way Philosophy has done.
