This article presents a discussion about the ethics of virtues in order to show how it takes place in Nicomachean ethics. In this way, a bibliographic analysis is carried out from the work Nicomachean Ethics by the philosopher Aristotle, as well as from other commentators to support the research. Through the study of this work, it is clear that the Stagirite offers us a theoretical framework about how man should act in order to have a good and happy life. He proposes that ethics is conditioned by virtues. And that these virtues are fundamental in acting and thinking of the human being for the happiness of the community in which he is inserted, because it is through virtues that man acts well and in the right measure, and becomes a better man. Thus, as presented by the philosopher, the virtues are divided into intellectual virtues and moral virtues. The first being acquired by teaching and the second acquired by habit. Furthermore, the work shows that although there is this division of virtues, the two have a close relationship, so that a morally correct action is the result of this relationship.
