Modernity, Experience, Walter Benjamin.Abstract
For Walter Benjamin of the 1930s, the modern world presents itself as the locus of a gradual impoverishment of human experience, determined in the light of the transformations fixed by the rise and radicalization of productive secular forces. The present article aims to present this debate in his 1933 essay entitled "Experience and Poverty", in which the reflection on the status of experience is a key to the reading of modern metropole.
