Interculturalidade e representações da diversidade cultural na infância:
uma análise de livros didáticos do ensino fundamental

The article approaches the conception of interculturality from the analysis of didactic books utilized in the elementary school in a public school of the Brasília city, in the Federal District. In the study is analyzed the recognize of the cultural diversity in the educational system in Brazil. The notions of interculturality are analyzed, and the representations and references of the African, Afro-Brazilian, and Indigenous cultures in didact books of the 2nd year of elementary school of the said institution. The analysis shows that the didacts books of the level of education mentioned includes content references and representations of the Indigenous, African, and Afro-Brazilian cultures, providing a relative recognition of the cultural diversity, and the formation of a notion of interculturality in childhood. The study concludes that the books present more references to Indigenous cultures. In books are restricted the mentions to African, and Afro-Brazilian cultures.
