Abstract

It all started with a surprise, with great joy: Luiz Eduardo's response to our little email message, in which we were risking the request that he grant us an interview to open this Dossier. We thought it would be the ideal name, but the expectation was small. A few days later, we received your message of acceptance, in which came your simplicity and availability to receive us. Then, the details were worked out: imagine and discuss, with him, the place, the medium and the possible theme / topics for the conversation; organize the equipment; tickets to Rio de Janeiro; provide the image and sound section cards and follow. Ahead, there we were, at his residence in Rio de Janeiro, where he welcomed us between late morning and part of the afternoon of January 10, 2020.

Author Biographies

Inês Assunção de Castro Teixeira, Universidade Federal da Paraíba

Bachelor and Degree in Social Sciences from UFMG (1973); Master in Education from UFMG (1992) and PhD in Education from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in 1998; completed her Postdoctoral I at the Universidade de Barcelona in 2005 and Postdoctoral II at the Metropolitan Autonomous University of Mexico and at FE / USP in 2014. She is a Full Professor (retired) at the Faculty of Education at UFMG and a retired professor at PUC Minas . She is a research professor at the Mutum Group: Education, Teaching and Cinema. Participates in the Affirmative Actions Program at UFMG and in Scientific Committees of Magazines, Events and Associations. She dedicates herself to the training of teachers and new researchers in the field of human and social sciences as a supervisor of monographs, scientific initiation, master's and doctorate. In undergraduate and graduate courses. She has been a researcher at CNPq for several years, through a research productivity grant. Visiting Professor at the Federal University of Paraíba (Education Center).

Timothy Denis Ireland, Universidade Federal da Paraíba

Professor at the Federal University of Paraíba. Graduated in English Language and Literature from the Universidade de Edimburgo (1971), Master in Adult Education - University of Manchester (1978) and PhD in Adult Education - University of Manchester (1988). He is currently professor of postgraduate programs in education (PPGE) and in Direitos Humanos, Cidadania e Políticas Públicas (PPGDH) and coordinator of the UNESCO Chair in Youth and Adult Education. He has experience in Education, with an emphasis on Adult Education, working mainly on the following themes: public policies for youth and adult education, international policies for lifelong learning and education, prison education, youth and adult literacy, popular education and south-south cooperation.

Marília Sousa Andrade Dias, Rede Municipal de Educação de Belo Horizonte

Professor at the Belo Horizonte Municipal Education Network (admission date 10/20/87). Graduated in Psychology. Master in Education from the Faculdade de Educação da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (FaE / UFMG, 2012). PhD in Education by the Latin American Doctoral Program in Education: Public Policies and Teaching Profession (UFMG / FaE) with the title of the thesis: For these boys and boys, what teaching (Schools of Socieducativo Systems - Brazil and Colombia) - Feb, 2019. She is a member of PRODOC - Research Group on Training and Teaching Condition at FaE / UFMG; he is a member of the MUTUM Group: Education, Teaching and Cinema and of KINO - Latin American Network of Education, Cinema and Audiovisual.
