RURAL SCHOOLS AND CURRICULUM
policies and practices in farming territories
Keywords:
Curriculum, Rural Schools, Policies and PracticesAbstract
The following text presents articles compiled for the Rural Schools and Curriculum Dossier: policies and practices in farming territories. It represents the collective efforts of researchers dedicated to the field of rural education in their countries of origin (Brazil, Colombia, Uruguay, Spain, and France). We analyzed the educational processes through the lens of the dialogue between students’ lives and the schools, while also fielding questions about the curriculum: What is it? What is its purpose? For whom is it meant for? How is it designed? How is it implemented? These theoretical reflections cover a vast range due to the myriad of curricular projects applied to the learning systems and rural schools; we hope that this diversity furthers and enrichens the debate we wish to portray with this Dossier’s publication.
